Sir Arthus Paget is shown three quarter facing to the right with short brown hair, wearing a dark brownish green coat with a brown fur collar over an open necked frilled shirt. The curtain and drapery under the bust in dark green wax. Paget entered the diplomatic service in 1791 and served as envoy to Vienna and Naples. The background is covered with green silk and the portrait is framed in a deep gilded frame.
