Relief
early 19th century (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

In this portrait in coloured wax, Queen Anne is shown nearly full face wearing a low cut dress trimmed with ermine and bands of gold across the corsage. There is a chemisette of lace. Her long dark hair falls in curls on her shoulders, and she wears a crown with pearls (loose) on the front arch. A string of pearls is round her neck, The wax is set in a folded drapery of purple velvet within an oval black frame. The purple velvet mounting and possibly the oval frame are modern. The velvet probably replaces the wax draperies generally used by Samuel Percy.
