This wax relief depicts Alexander and Diogenes. Beneath a tree to the left stands the figure of Alexander in fantastic armour and plumed helmet, looking downwards at the figure of Diogenes seated before him, beside his tub. To the left a page bearing a shield peers round at the philosopher while a black boy in the background holds a vestive charger. In the background and leaning on the tub are further figures of armed soldiers.
