Place of origin

This magnificent jug is a sophisticated example of revived Rococo design. The asymmetrical decoration, the shell-like neck and rim and the flowing contours all drawing on the playful interest in marine and natural forms are typical of true 18th-century Rococo. The jug was made soon after Wimbush registered his first mark in 1828.
