Elizabeth Clay was born in Mansfield, Nottinghampshire. She studied silversmithing at Sheffield Polytechnic, 1970-73 and at Newcastle University, 1973-74. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1976.

Physical description

Decanter, Britannia standard silver, the interior gilt, gourd shaped body rising into a trunk shaped neck. The neck and body are embossed with a curvilinear design down one side, the rest is plain.
