This is a drawing in pen, ink, and wash on paper of doors and a door-case leading from the foot of the Principle Staircase to the former Great Parlour (later the Library) of Thorpe Hall, Longthorpe, Northamptonshire.Thorpe hall was a mantions built in 1653-1656 during the Commonwealth period by Peter Mills for the Lord Chief Justice Oliver St. John.

Drawing, Pen, ink and wash, drawing of a door and doorcase for mansion at Thorpe Hall, English, ca.1720.
Physical description
Drawing in pen, ink, and wash on paper of doors and door-case leading from the foot of the Principle Staircase to the former Great Parlour (later the Library) of Thorp Hall, Longthorpe, Northamptonshire. Ornate carving in design included on the sides of the doorcase and floral carving along the top. On the back of the sheet is a preliminary sketch for part of the elevation of the mansion. A scale in feet and inches and other inscriptions are written in pen below the doorway.
