Object history
Bought for £200. Received from H.R.Jessop Ltd
Registry says: Cup is of the heavy ornamental eclecticism of the Victorian period, stylistically mixed but reminiscent of the work of Rundell, Bridge and Rundell (particularly in the use of cast figures and ther rusticated stem) and of the work of Froment Meurice (especially the handles)
As manufacturing silversmiths to the trade, Robert Hennell’s clients are known to have included Hunt & Roskell.
