  • Marked below the tines with a Design Registry Mark for 2nd May 1848. Marked on the handle with standard silver marks: maker’s mark, GA, for George Adams, lion-passant to indicate sterling standard, leopard’s head to show the fork was marked at the London Assay Office, date letter Q for 1851, duty mark (monarch’s head). Also has an incised ‘E’, the stock pattern number.
