This is a silver gilt medal made by Lorenz Rosenbaum in about 1563. The obverse of this medal represents Maximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor, and his wife Maria facing left. This medal was made shortly before Maximilian became Holy Roman Emperor. He is wearing the crown of the throne of Bohemia, and the Order of the Golden Fleece.
