This is a lead medal made by Johann Philipp von der Pütt in Germany, 1603. This medal has only an obverse which represents the bust of Hans Werherr of Nuremberg (b. 1549), portrayed at the age of 54 according to the inscription.
Johann Philipp von der Pütt, the father of Hans von der Pütt, came originally from Dordrecht, and became citizen of Nuremberg in 1589. He was a goldsmith and medallist; the models for his medals are of wax.
