This photograph was created in 1983 close to the innovative beginnings of digital technology being use to create art works. This image is a digital compound image made up of the faces of twentieth century dictators Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao and Khomeini. The title of Big Brother referes to George Orwell's novel 1984 (first published in 1949).
