Physical description | Medal depicts on the obverse the bust to right of Hercules, bearded, wearing a wreath of vine-leaves and with the lion's skin tied about his neck. On the reverse Hercules standing on the right, in a cuirass, with the lion's skin over his left arm, and with his club, here of unusual length, in his right hand. To him advances from the left a messenger, clad in a cuirass, bearing the short of Nessus. Inscribed. |
