This photograph is one of Hawarden’s ‘Orientalist’ series (see PH.278-1947). The location has moved to another area of her studio, which has a star-patterned wallpaper in the background. As before, a standing figure watches over a reclining one asleep on a divan covered in rich fabrics.

Both in fancy dress (Orientalist style).
