In a cartouche decorated with musical instruments in the ornamental border, a Jesuit priest stands on left, talking to a well-dressed gentleman in the latest French fashion, and pointing towards a stage, where a performance is taking place beyond an orchestra, whose heads and instruments are just visible above the edge of the pit.
