Snuff box of tortoiseshell inlaid with two colours of gold and silver, oval with a flat hinged lid. The lid is bordered by rococo strapwork framing a scene showing a soldier chasing a duck with a sabre in a landscape. The remainder of the box is inlaid at intervals with foliage and flowers.

Physical Description
Snuff box of tortoiseshell inlaid with two colours of gold and silver, oval with a flat hinged lid. The lid is bordered by rococo strapwork framing a scene showing a soldier chasing a duck with a sabre in a landscape. The remainder of the box is inlaid at intervals with foliage and flowers.

Silver Gallery: Silver and yellow gold have been combined with red gold to depict a hunting scene. Red or "rose" gold is produced by mixing a little copper with gold.(26/11/2002)
