Silver Gallery: The Sacred Monogram IHS in the rock-crystal bowl suggests this spoon was made for liturgical use. It is badly fitted to its stem and is probably a replacement.(26/11/2002)

TS and Welby: crystal look later, perhaps 17th century and doesn’t seem to suit the handle. Perhaps it was originally an opaque hardstone, such as agate?
