'Lord Kintore's Keeper, Waiting for a Shot at a Roe Deer'. On the right of the picture, a white-haired game keeper kneels on one knee, a shotgun in his hands. By his side is a small hound dog and behind him is a (presumably dead) young deer propped against a bank of earth. His top hat is placed on the ground in the centre foreground of the picture. To the left of the picture, in the distance, a young deer can be seen running out from the cover of trees.
