Marks and inscriptions
  • On rim: J.G.B.; opposite side: winged horse. The crests are English, late 19th-century.
  • On the base: maker’s mark for Lambertus van Giffen (his second mark- born 1719, died 1791), town mark 8 over N for Groningen, mark for 1788-9, struck twice
