This photograph show works of art owned by Signol, a Parisian collector. They are placed before a 19th-century French or Italian woven silk spread in front of a wall in daylight. The objects are arranged as a still life, not merely as an inventory. They all seem to be Italian works: a lead candlestand (16th or 19th century), a maiolica jug (Florentine region, about 1490-1500), a pilgrim-flask (Urbino region, about 1540), a stool (16th or 19th century) and a plaster relief with the standing figure of Jesus Christ (early 14th century, possibly by the circle of the Sienese sculptor Tino da Camaino). The Signol collection is now in the Musée des Beaux Arts in Tours, France.
