Object history | V&A has four plates from the set of sixteen. From Miller (1999), p. 64. Bellini, 1995, records a father and son, Nicolò and Giovanni Giacomo Valegio, who were printers and publishers active in Venice from at least 1566. This set of prints indicates that Nicolò was active before thsi date. the plates are described in order of the Amsterdam catalogue, with the plate not in the Amsterdam collection placed at the end. Some of the plates in Amsterdam, but not present here, are upright panels rather than friezes. |
