Part of a curtain, with the design roller-printed in blue. Dancing scenes. Barrels at the right are inscribed "John Marshall & Sons" and "J.M&S" "No.19".
Printing goes over the selvedges. At top and bottom the cotton is hemmed, and at the top there are four loops of white linen tape.

Object history
Another piece of this design was exhibited in the 1955 V&A Exhibition of English Chintz, cat. no. 17, lent by the CPA, roller-printed in red on a yellow ground. It was there given the title 'rustic revels', and unattributed, as the barrels with the inscription were lacking. Another piece of the design is in the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.
