This is a map of Paris made in the 17th century by famous Dutch engraver Frederick de Wit. At the time this map of Paris was made the Dutch were in the middle of a golden age of cartography and publishing. De Wit made a number of incredibly popular townscapes intended to be published together in an album. This map was not intended to be used as a practical guide to the city but rather to satisfy the armchair traveller and print-collector.
