The engraving shows a group of children in a country lane: three boys in skeleton suits with wide white collars are playing at trap ball, with the trap and ball to the left (the boy on the left of the group has a bat in his right hand) To the right, a girl in a broad brimmed hat and light coloured dress is looking on with a small child, also wearing a light coloured dress.
