Object history
Registered File number 1985/326. The source for this and other embroideries in the set (see T.118 to T.124-1985) is unknown. In 1863 Edward Burne-Jones drew a design to be made up in embroidered panels for his home at 62 Great Russell Street (Whitworth Art Gallery D.73.1927 verso). The series depicted Arthurian figures and this embroidery corresponds with the drawing. It is likely that the panel was embroidered by Georgiana Burne-Jones or another member of the Burne-Jones family (see T.199 to T.121-1985 for other figures in the series).
