St Christopher, mother of pearl relief, South German, late 15th century
Physical description
The saint with a voluminous mantle blowing out on all sides is stepping out of the river, holding with both hands his staff which reaches over his left shoulder. Above the naked Child is seated on his shoulders. On the right is the hermit with staff and lantern.

The relief is convex. The silver mount has one loop; on the edge at the back is roughly scratched P.D.R.
