Dolls' House
ca. 1937 (manufactured)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This is one of a range of houses sold as 'Ultra Modern Dolls' Houses' by Lines Bros. Ltd. under the Tri-ang trademark in the late 1930s. Lines Bros. Ltd. were well known for their large range of dolls' houses, all of which reflected popular taste in domestic architecture and interiors. The geometric modern range were not as popular as the traditional cottages and houses, therefore were not in production for long. However the decorative detail such as the parquet flooring, and fittings such as the electric bulbs, together with the simple streamlined minimalist look of the time reflects the 'real' home in miniature.
