This statuette in bronze is of a seated buy holding a tub for and was intended for an inkstand.
It was previously attributed to the school of Andrea Riccio and dated early 16th century. Now it is believed to be based on a classical bronze, an example of which is in the Louvre, Paris, and probably made in teh 19th century.

The boy is seated cross-legged, wrapped in a fawn-skin, with a small tub or barrel between his knees.
