Jettmar was a painter and founder member of the Vienna Secession, a group of artists founded in 1897, who rejected the more traditional and conservative styles of their predecessors and therefore chose to 'secede' from the exhibitions of more established organizations. This poster advertises the group's 27th exhibition in 1903 - it depicts the Vienna Secession building designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich and built in 1897.
