Canvas work sampler. Linen canvas embroidered with wool. Dated 1948 with the initials 'BD' along the lower edge. There is a variety of motifs, the most dominant of which is a very large rectangle in the upper right hand corner divided into geometric sections worked in shades of beige, green and brick red. There is a parrot on a small pine tree in the lower right hand corner and a larger yellow bird in the lower left hand corner. The four sides have been bound.
