One of a sequence of casts showing stages in the making of a brooch by Trifari, a leading manufacturer of costume jewellery in Providence, Rhode Island.

This stage shows one of the two major elements of the brooch, part 'A', as it appears after it has been cast and removed from the rubber mould. The brooch element in the centre, composed of a leaf and scrolls, is attached to the sprue, which is formed when the molten metal was poured in the mould.
