  • Jameel Gallery Bowl with Horseman Eastern Iran, probably Nishapur 900–1000 This ‘buffware’ bowl also comes from eastern Iran, but a different technique was used to decorate it. The vivid horse rider was painted with black slip and coloured washes on to a buff ground. Earthenware painted under a transparent glaze Museum no. C.294-1987 (2006)
