Object history
This wrapper protects a length of blue cotton (FE.263:1-1995) and it survives more or less as it would have been sold. The sunflower motif around the edges of the label on the wrapper may suggest that the place of manufacture was the People's Republic of China rather than Hong Kong. The sunflower was a much-used design in the PRC during the Maoist years.
