This printed design for wallpaper has a pattern based on an expanded hexagon. The wallpaper manufacturers Arthur Sanderson & Sons, Ltd produced this wallpaper in several colours, known in the industry as colourways. Humphrey Spender designed it when he was tutor in textile design at the Royal College of Art.

Physical description

Portion of wallpaper with a design of joined hexagons in dark green on which there are dabs of gilding. These hexagons are printed onto a blue-grey ground. There are marks of dark green and gilding in the background spaces; Screen print on paper.
