Shoulder bag formed from one length of cloth folded in half (the fold forming the pocket of the bag) stitched to a second length forming the sides with fringe and carrying strap.

Black ground with the body of the bag brightened with enlarged traditional Kachin multicoloured geometric motifs.

Woven inscription declaring "Welcome" on one side and other side "God Be Blessing,To The Covernor, Weave by, Masa Whlaing".

A presentation shoulder bag from Inlay Lake region of the Shan States Burma. Plain and supplementary weave patterned with typical Kachin geometric designs. Inscribed with the weavers name and that it was for the Governor of Burma. c. 1935 to 1939.
