Marks and inscriptions
Two faint ink-stamps possible maker's name (Stamp; Burmese; Burmese; lower back of garment; ink)
Object history
Believed to have been collected by the donor's father while living in Burma in the second half of the 1930's.

Historical significance: This style, introduced at the turn of the 19th/ 20th century,was a modification of the earlier tightly fitting open fronted ein-gyi made fashionable at the court of the Konbaung Kings (1752-1885).
