Object history
Ada Hunter, along with her sister Blanche, was one of the official V&A house artists at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. She painted many textile reconstructions of antique textile fragments in the Textiles Collections. Recreated in this drawing by Hunter is a 15th century Italian wall hanging, formerly in Stockton House near Salisbury, which was lent to the V&A by the Bishop of Worcester.
