| Physical description | Tinsel print of Edmund Kean as Richard III. The etched print of Kean in costume has been cut from its original background and stuck to a card backing. It is hand-coloured,with tinsel and fabric scraps attached, including red velvet for his ermine-edged cloak and white satin for his sleeves and breeches. It is titled verso 'MR KEAN as RICHARD the IIIrd', surrounding which is added the manuscript note: 'done in 1823. The velvet and silk are part of the Coronation robes of George 4th.' |
