Scroll painting, watercolour on paper, with a cloth support, comprising twelve panels, which are comparable iconographically with IS.24-1978 and IS.29-1978. The paper bears a solar motif. The panels depict:
1. Two majestic figures flanking a female figure,
2. Garuda and Hanuman,
3. Two supplicants and a three-headed, goose-mounted god,
4. Four men with uplifted right arms,
5. Four men carrying vessels,
6. A bird sacrifice in a grove,
7. Two drummers and four dancing women,
8. Four men making music,
9. Three men, two of whom carry vessels,
10. A cow sacrifice,
11. A python-hunt,
12. A recumbent man and two women (one uncoloured).

Object history
The scroll was originally collected by W.G. Archer. The Museum received the scroll as a gift from John C. Irwin in 1978.
Production
This Santal scroll painting comes under the folk scroll category described as 'Jadupata' (magic scroll). The artist, Aminda Chitrakar came from village Kusunghata, Sapchala circle, Dumka subdivision, Santal Parganas district, Bihar.
