A long rectangle worn as a wrap skirt. Formed from two rectangular panels stitched along the weft edge and attached to a black cotton 21.7 cm. waistband. Lined with white cotton cloth.
The top panel or body is woven in a variety of wave pattern in three shades of pink silk. The main pattern is a version of the taik kaung tin pan khet (queen's floral garland) and is highlighted with silver thread. The warp ends are finished in a vertical stripe, one of them ornamented with acheik patterns forms a front panel.
The lower panel made of two pieces of silk sewn selvage to selvage (ie long end of panel runs along weft threads) forms a train. Three shades of pink weft stripes on a pale pink warp interspersed with three black pin stripes and interwoven with silver threads.

Object history | To be worn by a young girl on ceremonial occasions. Historical significance: With the abolition of the monarchy in 1885 under British rule, sumptuary laws lapsed and the use of royal patterns and silver thread such as found on this hta-mein was no longer a royal perogative. |
