The Buddha sits in the padmasana mudra (legs locked in the lotus position) on a double lotus throne. The right hand is in bhumisparsa mudra (earth touching or witness attitude) and the left hand rests upturned in the lap in the dhyana mudra (meditating position). Following convention the earlobes are extended and the hair rises to an ushnisha (top knot).
Depicted in monastic robes which leave the right shoulder and arm bare.
