Information supplied by Jens Nordlunde in May 2008, the Sanskrit inscription translated by an (unnamed) Indian teacher of Sanskrit:

Seyamshambashikha shatrusangsamharkarini'
'Katarikasthi Bundija Bundisho Ram Bhubhujaha'
'This edged weapon sharp and pointed as the Vajra, which is the cause of destruction of all enemies around, belongs to Bundi Rama of the country of Bundi'
On the other side is the date 1807 VS - 1850-51 AD.
