  • CARDIGAN 'VIM LIDS' Vivienne Westwood (World's End) London, 1983 Woven cotton Vivienne Westwood first gained recognition during the late 1970s with the creation of punk fashion. In the same eclectic spirit as punk she uses everyday throw-away items as the dominant feature of this distinctive and amusing garment. It is made from 'dish cloth' fabric and the buttons are fashioned from the lids of scouring powder containers. Ragged check patch pockets enhance the 'slapped on' and intentionally sloppy feel of the cardigan. T.366-1985(1988)
