Red machine-knitted wool jumper knitted with rows of mainly white sheep, with one individual black sheep on the front. Accented with embroidery.

  • Warm and Wonderful became headline news when Diana, Princess of Wales wore an identical 'black sheep' sweater- it was one of her favorites. David Bowie and Penelope Keith had the same humorous design in different colourways.(1997)
  • 'SHEEP' SWEATER Machine-knitted wool British: Warm & Wonderful (Joanna Osborne and Sally Muir), 1985 This traditional shaped sweater is knitted in stocking stitch with the pattern colours stranded across the back of the work. The sheep's eyes were completed after the knitting was completed. The lower edge, neck and cuffs are ribbed. This design, which included just one black sheep, had been made especially popular by Warm and Wonderful's most famous customer, the Princess of Wales. The witty idea of patterning a woollen jumper with sheep has been widely exploited but this particular version has been in constant demand since it was first produced in 1985 Given by Joanna Osborne and Sally Muir.
