Truncated-vesica in shape. The deeply sunk subject is in low relief, and represents Gautama The Buddha seated on a padmasana in the "bhumisparsha mudra" within a trifoliate niche surmounted by the Sikhara of the Great Mahabobhi Temple at Bodh-Gaya. The branches of the Bodhi-tree issue from behind the sikhara. On either side of the Buddha are small votive-stupas and below the padmasana is the "Ye dharma hetuprabhava & etc", or Buddhist Creed in Sanskrit characters.

Subject is deeply impressed from an intaglio mould in the style of the old Indian clay tablets of the |Gupta period of 5th/6th century made at Bodh-Gaya, Eastern India.
