Content description
Depicts a man operating a well with two buckets by pulling a central chain accessible through an opening in a wall.

Georg Lichtensteger Sculpsit 3 Fernere Invention eines solchen bequemen Schöpff oder Zieh-Brunnen, wie selbiger in einer gebrochenen Nichen kan angebracht, und statt der Zug-Welle bloss mit würcklichen Zug-Ketten versehen werden, dabey sich die ausgiessede Wasser-Eimer seitwerts aus leren, und das Wasser durch Hanen in die Gefässe gelasse wird. Translation
Further invention of such a pleasant dipping or pulling well, which can be fitted in a broken-through niche, and can be furnished only with actual pulling chains rather than a pulling axle, so that the pouring water buckets empty to the side, and the water is let into the vessels through taps.

The V&A holds this suite as published by Johann Balthasar Probst. It was originally published by Jeremias Wolff, before 1724.
