Object history
Lent by the Royal Asiatic Society of London to the India Museum. Transferred from the India Museum to South Kensington Museum in November 1879. Renumbered in 1924.
Production
Part of eleven terracotta bricks, with ornament modelled and cut by hand mainly in full-relief.

The major part of the ruins of ancient city of Gaur is in Malda District of West Bengal in present day India. Only a small portion of the ruins are in Bangladesh.
