The whole is painted on a single pane of glass. Saul prostrates himself towards the left at the bottom, wearing a purple robe. The witch, full face, on the right, holds a staff in her left hand and raises her right towards Samuel. She wears a turban, a russet dress, and a grey shawl. There is a brazier beside her. The spirit of Samuel wrapped in a white mantle rises left in a yellow opening among the surrounding grey clouds.
