Object history
Edgar Chahine (1874-1947) was an artist, engraver and illustrator born in Vienna, Austria of Armenian descent. Chahine moved to Paris in 1895 to commence his exhibiting career, and was awarded Gold Medals for his work at the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1900) and the Venice Biennale (1903).
