Doll dressed in a Northern Paluang woman's costume composed of: -
Long hood made of a patchwork of Chinese pink, lilac and yellow silk damask.
Back Flap circling to the front of the same silk damask as the hood with yellow pom-poms at the corners.
Front Flap of similar damask and colour as the Back Flap.
Blouse of blue silk Chinese damask.
Longyi red rayon-silk with fine horizontal stripes from waist to hem.
Leggings/font> green and yellow silk damask.
Detachable Sleeves pink and blue silk damask.

| Object history | The doll was collected in the late 1930's by Sir Archibald and Lady Cochrane during Sir Archibald's time as the last governor of Burma before the second world war. It serves as a model for wearing the Paluang Woman's Costume (IS 8 to 16 - 1998) which formed part of the Cochrane Collection acquired by the Museum. |
