Reynolds (Lugt 2364); Dyce Bequest 1869 LITERATURE Dyce Collection no. 245 (as by Tintoretto); Tietze and Tietze-Conrat, no. 1703 (as by Tintoretto) The post is similar to that of the disciple whose foot Christ is washing in the picture of that subject in the National Gallery, London, the extended and foreshortened right arm being a noticeable feature common to both figures. (See Bercken, pl. 102; approximate date 1564-66; Tieze, pl. 139.) But the disciple in the painting leans further forward, while his right leg is correspondingly more extended and not so foreshortened in the thigh.
